Solar VII and storage pipeline grows past one gigawatt
A second utility-scale portfolio in Ontario, two British Columbia projects for the 2027 procurement, and a BESS project under development in Chile.
CarbonFree is assembling a second Ontario portfolio, Solar VII, targeting land with a high probability of achieving zoning, permitting, interconnection and economic success — non-agricultural ground with workable topography and available interconnection capacity nearby.
Four target regions have been identified with eight specific sites under assessment. Three sites are already secured, with 4,250 acres under lease option and 450 acres under purchase option.
Beyond Ontario, two projects are under development in British Columbia for the expected 2027 BC Hydro procurement, and a battery storage project is under development in Chile.
