We build solar at scale to power Canada’s clean energy future.
CarbonFree develops, finances, builds and operates utility-scale solar across the Americas — 137 projects and 780 MWdc delivered since 2006. That takes two partners: landowners whose ground can host a project, and large electricity users who buy the power at a fixed price and take the clean energy credits.
Two ways to work with us.
Turn acres you aren’t using into decades of contracted income.
If you own rural, marginal or industrial land near available grid capacity, it may be able to host a utility-scale solar project. Long-term lease payments, no cost to you, and you keep the land.
Know what you’ll pay for power — for the next 20 years.
Electricity costs are volatile, climbing, and impossible to budget more than a year out. Buy power directly from our solar projects at a price fixed by contract for 15 to 20 years. Your rate is set, market spikes don’t reach you, and the clean energy credits are yours. Nothing is installed on your site.
One team, every stage, from first parcel to the grid.
CarbonFree originates, permits, finances, constructs and then operates its projects in-house, for their full multi-decade life. The hardest parts of a project tend to be the handoffs — so we don’t have any. That end-to-end control is what turns a CarbonFree lease into a real project, and a CarbonFree contract into real power.
